Pellets are fine, but a small amount of carrots and greens (not to be confused with lettuce, because it has no nutritional value). Recommend mustard greens, beet greens, cabbage and carrot tops, clover and alfalfa.

I would recommend you refrigerate the food, since a 25 lbs bag will lose nutrients before it can be finished. This will also keep moths out of your home. Keep it sealed, also. You can divide it into tupperwares to make it easier to handle.

Also, I would give them a water soluble vitamin supplement, as LM is certainly not a high-end food (but is definitely better than bin food).

Please get a good, recently-published book on rabbits as pets. It's responsible pet ownership to buy and read the book before you get the pets, to be safe, and it can save you heartache and money in the future! Rabbits need to have some safe, well- portioned fresh foods in their regular diet. It's good for their health and digestion, but also for their interest and mental wellbeing :) there is no such thing as a single commercial diet that has every single nutrient any animal needs to survive. Variety is not only mentally stimulating for pets, it also helps them get a range of nutrients!

I have to add that I, personally, would never give my business to Petland Discounts. Their standards for animal care are absolutely disgusting to the point of making every other large chain I have ever been to look like SAINTS of animal mercy!!! Supporting small businesses and purchasing smaller amounts of PREMIUM rabbit food would help not only the economy a little, but definitely be great for your rabbits' health. Even on minimum wage, it only takes a couple extra hours' work to give them the great care they deserve, so why not? :o

Good luck and enjoy your pets!
