It is necessary for blood clotting, I think.

its a fat soluble vitamin,and its essential for blood clotting factors to work (helps stop bleeding)

i know only this: it was given to my kid at birth.

Yes to the above responses.

We all normally get Vitamin K from the diet, i.e., spinach and other green leafy vegtables.

Those people taking anticoagulants (blood thinners) sometimes bleed from excessive anticoagulation. Vitamin K serves as the antidote.

Also, rat poison is an anticoagulant. The cure is Vit. K.

no it does not stop blood clotting, it clotts the blood
