Food question: What am I?
jedijanzen asked:
I was found on the Galapagos Islands in South America, 700 A.D. Europe called me “the wolf peach” or “devil apple” and many people thought I was poisonous. I was used at that time to keep the “werewolves” away. In 1780, Thomas Jefferson introduced me to America. My fruit provides 57% Vitamin C, Vitamin A, and Vitamin K. I am well known as the leader of the phytonutrient “Lycopene” an antioxidant. I can lower risk of colon and prostate cancer and reduce risk of heart disease. What Am I?

I am 100% sure it is the tomato. People never heard of this fruit before and they were afraid it would pioson them. Tomatoes are a great source of lycopene. I hope this helps.
