I had serious issues with my dogs on the Nutro and had to switch and I am pleased with it. I got in after the new formula ( which is where most of the issues with it from other dogs came from - they changed formulas and people were unaware and it was causing stomach upset/diarrhea - just like any other food switch if not done gradually - I admit Canidae should have done a better job of letting people know about the ingredient change. The other issue is that some dogs don't tolerate grains well - and they added barley and millet - but increased the meat content - so that caused issues for some). As long as Canidae keeps using human grade ingredients - I will keep buying it. If your dogs like it like mine do and are not having any issues on it - I would stay with it. I thought my Dale (4 yr old Bluetick Coonhound) was looking tubby on it - but my vet said he looked fine and he'd actually lost 4 lbs - she said she liked how he looked and to keep him on it. She also pointed out that - he might look tubby compared to my Reba (3 yr old Redbone Coonhound) I just adopted that needs to catch up with him (she needs to gain at least 5 lbs - 7 lbs). You should definitely stick with Canidae! I would never feed my dogs Purina...
